What: Roger & Gallet Hand & nail cream Gingembre Rouge
Why: Absolutely gorgeous scent, wonderful formula – and perfect size for my hand bag. My hand cream on-the-go.
Green Factor: 98% naturally derived ingredients. 100% distilled precious essences.
Where: Pharmacie De L’homme De Fer, Strasbourg (F)
Also available: Drugstores
What: Chanel Moisturizing Body Lotion “Coco Mademoiselle”
Why: Yes, I know, it’s not natural. But gosh, it’s so exquisite and delicate, and the consistency is just perfect. My Sunday morning treat.
Green Factor: Nope, really not. And sometimes I wonder why those expensive brands don’t use better ingredients. Palm oil, paraffin – really??? Makes me angry!
Where: Gift from my husband
Also available on: In pretty much every perfumery
What: Team Dr. Joseph Daily Skin Calming Cream
Why: Team Dr. Joseph is one of my absolute favourite organic skincare brands. Their products are amazing! And this face cream makes no exception. My sensitive skin feels nourished, soft and well balanced. Hooray!
Green Factor: Pure, natural & organic. Big thumbs up!
Where: Adler Mountain Lodge, Alpi di Siusi (I)
What: Tata Harper Revitalizing Body Oil
Why: This body oil smells like a spa (quite strongly so – either you’ll love it or hate it). I love that it’s made of all-natural ingredients that penetrate skin immediately, making it noticeably softer and smoother. So luxurious!
Green Factor: 100% natural & nontoxic
Where: Waterbury Pharmacy, Waterbury VT (USA)
Also available at: Sephora USA
What: Pixi Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths
Why: When travelling, my beauty routine has to be simple and efficient. Meaning: I don’t want to bring bottles of cleansers and tonics along. These pre-moistened cleansing cloths combine the two and are super handy. Infused with botanical extracts, they effectively remove even waterproof makeup.
Green Factor: The preservative listed at the very end is questionable (Polyaminopropyl Biguanide). If they changed that, there would be nothing to complain about.
What: Sabon Body Scrub in Green Valley
Why: This body scrub is based on natural sea salts and enriched with many different natural oils, leaving my skin so smooth and silky soft. Plus the “Green Valley” scent is to die for.
Green Factor: Without parabens and sodium laureth sulfates, and packed with really good natural ingredients. But just not entirely. If they could only change that.
Where: Sabon store in Le Marais, Paris (F)
Also available: Sabon stores worlwide. See list here.
What: La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Ultra-light Spray
Why: With my sensitive skin, I like to apply a SPF 50+ sunscreen. Alas, most SPF 50+ sunscreens are sticky and leave white marks. Not this one. Formulation-wise, this one is perfection. Super light AND high protection. Because tomato red skin is not a good look.
Green Factor: Unfortunately not. Please, please leave your comment if you know a natural sunscreen which is light and has high protection. Much appreciated!
Where: Falken Apotheke, Lucerne (CH)
Also available in: many other pharmacies
What: Lavera Revitalising Body Lotion Organic Orange & Seabuckthorn
Why: My dry skin cannot live without a daily dose of body lotion. I love the smell of anything citrus fruity and was in search of an organic alternative to my beloved Body Shop satsuma body cream. This one comes pretty close.
Green Factor: All natural and organic
Where: Coop City, Lucerne (CH)
What: Supergoop Setting Mist with Rosemary SPF 50
Why: I don’t always like to apply sunscreen, but I want to be protected at all times. This refreshing setting mist with SPF 50 is the solution. I just spray it on as a finishing touch to my make-up in the morning. Great stuff!
Green Factor: May contain palm oil, but apart from that, there is nothing irritating in this super product.
Where: Sephora, The Maine Mall, Portland (USA)
Also available on: If I only knew!
What: Kiehl’s Cactus Flower & Tibetan Ginseng Hydrating Mist
Why: I like having a moisturising face mist at hand in winter time when my skin needs a little pick-me-up during the day. Do I need it? Nope. But it’s still a nice feeling when I spray it on.
Green Factor: Kiehl’s is not an organic brand, but this face mist has no questionable ingredients.
Where: Globus, Lucerne (CH)
Also available: Kiehl’s stores worldwide
