Catch of the day: Hand Cream

What: Barr-Co. Honeysuckle Hand & Body Cream

Why: I love this hand cream! The scent reminds me of warm summer evenings in the gardens where I grew up. It also has a grand texture, melts right into your skin and leaves them soft and moisturised.

Green Factor: More than 98% natural, hence nothing to complain.

Where: Gift from my friend Sarah

Also available in: selected stores like Anthropologie (USA, UK),  Globus (CH)

Catch of the day: Cuticle oil

What: Cowshed Apricot Nourishing Cuticle Oil

Why: I love, love, love Cowshed. Starting from the hilarious product names (check out their range!), the cool packaging, and in particular, the seriously high quality of all their products. And it’s all organic! This cuticle oil adds shine to my nails and helps me keeping any dry, stubborn cuticles at bay. Great in winter times!

Green Factor: All Cowshed products contain natural botanicals from sustainable resources containing the highest quality essential oils. Any questions?

Where: Babington House, Somerset (UK)

Also available on:

Catch of the day: Body Lotion

What: Chanel Moisturizing Body Lotion “Coco Mademoiselle”

Why: Yes, I know, it’s not natural. But gosh, it’s so exquisite and delicate, and the consistency is just perfect. My Sunday morning treat.

Green Factor: Nope, really not. And sometimes I wonder why those expensive brands don’t use better ingredients. Palm oil, paraffin – really??? Makes me angry!

Where: Gift from my husband

Also available on: In pretty much every perfumery

Catch of the day: Body Lotion

What: Omida Dr. Schüssler Lotion 1&11 Calcium Fluoratum & Silicea

Why: I slathered this one on my belly and thighs during my pregnancy. Is it good genes or is it this insanely pleasant body lotion, enriched with biochemical Schüssler Salts? Fact is: I don’t even have a trace of a stretch mark.

Green Factor: Contains palm oil and microplastics. These are not bad for you per se, but are environmentally harmful. Please change these ingredients!

Where: Hertenstein Drogerie, Lucerne (CH)

Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer

Happy holiday season, peeps! There is nothing I don’t like about this time of the year. It encapsulates so many things I love: cozy nights at home, spending time with family and friends (even more special this year – first Christmas for our baby boy!), fun party invitations, decorating the home – and baking cookies. What I like even more than baking cookies, is decorating them. See what I came up with to decorate some chocolate sablés and orange cookies:

Catch of the day: Makeup Cleansing Cloths

What: Pixi Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths

Why: When travelling, my beauty routine has to be simple and efficient. Meaning: I don’t want to bring bottles of cleansers and tonics along. These pre-moistened cleansing cloths combine the two and are super handy. Infused with botanical extracts, they effectively remove even waterproof makeup.

Green Factor: The preservative listed at the very end is questionable (Polyaminopropyl Biguanide). If they changed that, there would be nothing to complain about.

Catch of the day: Body Scrub

What: Sabon Body Scrub in Green Valley

Why: This body scrub is based on natural sea salts and enriched with many different natural oils, leaving my skin so smooth and silky soft. Plus the “Green Valley” scent is to die for.

Green Factor: Without parabens and sodium laureth sulfates, and packed with really good natural ingredients. But just not entirely. If they could only change that.

Where: Sabon store in Le Marais, Paris (F)

Also available: Sabon stores worlwide. See list here.
