Had a late night? Say goodbye to those stubborn under-eye circles that inevitably come with it. The trick is to add two easy extra steps to your make-up routine – one before and one after applying your concealer, it is. This doesn’t take much time, but trust me: it really makes the difference!
First, I use a a peach-toned color corrector. This helps me neutralizing the blue tone of my under-eye circles. But careful: you should really only dab it directly to the dark areas. Seriously, don’t go crazy here and smash it all over your entire under-eye area. This brilliant product really only works when you apply it as said. And also: don’t rub. Just gently dab it on and press it into your skin. The one I use is Becca’s Under Eye Brightening Corrector which I was introduced to on our last trip to England. It is not available in Switzerland, but Space N.K., the store I got it from, ships all over Europe. Yay!
Next, I follow with concealer. Simple as that. I don’t have to tell you more about applying concealer, do I? At the moment, I use Nars Concealer in Honey. I just really like its creamy consistency which glides on easily and doesn’t crease or settle into the fine lines around the eye area.
And finally the last step: Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder. Now this is one brilliant product, I tell you. It is a super-light transparent setting powder that adds an incredible lightening boost. I was introduced to this miracle product last year in San Francisco. I needed a new concealer and headed to a Sephora. The sales assistant who helped me choosing my concealer dabbed this white powder on for a nice finish, as she said – without telling me what it was. And then walked off. Because I was really only after a concealer she didn’t want to push me into buying another product. But after looking into the mirror, I was like “gee, what’s that???” My whole face looked suddenly super fresh and radiant. So I ran after the sales assistant to find out what it was she just used on me. I knew I had to have this secret weapon *immediately*! She told me it was the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder which is formulated with light-reflecting micronized pigments which helps brightening and lightening your whole appearance. And in case you’re not convinced already: a couple of days later, when we were heading for dinner in Santa Barbara, no restaurant wanted to serve me alcohol – because apparently I didn’t look over 21. Ha! :-)
And now off you go to face your beloved again – fresh faced!
