Hello summer

Summer is ready – but are your feet? Here’s how to soothe dry cracked feet and get them all revamped for those cute strappy summer sandals.

Step 1

Scholl Jelly Soak

Start with a good deep soak to soften your skin and to prepare your feet for the following scrub to remove the dry flaky parts. My absolute favourite way to do this is to fill a decently sized wash basin with lukewarm water and then toss in a sachet of lavender scented Dr. Scholl’s Jelly Soak Therapy*. The special formula of this powder transforms the water into a gel soak which is heavenly! The warm salt-crystal gel feels *so* good on your feet, you won’t believe it. On top of that, the nice lavender scent really helps rejuvenating your tired achy feet. Pour yourself a glass of wine while you’re soaking your tootsies – and you’ll never want this experience to end. Trust me.

* I found Dr. Scholl’s Jelly Soak Therapy in a Duane Reade in New York and bought all the boxes they had (yes, it is that good). I wouldn’t know where to get them now, so if you come across them or a similar product: do let me know!

Step 2

Body Shop Footscrub

Now pull your feet out of the gel soak (I know it’s hard, but eventually you have to do it) and scoop about a tablespoon of a foot scrub onto your feet and gently start rubbing rough patches, paying special attention to the heels. I personally really like The Body Shop’s Peppermint Smoothing Foot Scrub because of its cooling minty formula.

Step 3

Sabon Foot Cream

Rinse off the scrub and pat your feet dry. Now this is one wonderful part as well, especially when you turn it into a proper little foot massage. I’ve found the Foot Cream from Israeli brand Sabon to be an indulgent treat. It rubs in just nicely without feeling greasy and also offers coolness and freshness thanks to the mint and camphor. Plus this stuff is packed with antioxidants and relaxing aromatherapy oils. If that’s not convincing you?

Step 4

The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray

And last but not least, whenever my hot and tired feet and limbs need a little pick-me-up, I refresh them with The Body Shop’s Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray. One of my summer essentials!

Now that’s how you show your feet some much-deserved love!
